On Saturday October 13th, West Lakes MVP Families and many families living at the new Pendana apartments enjoyed a day at Frontline Outreach Community Center’s pool for a Swim Safety Pool Party! Members of the Jones High School swim team volunteered their time to demonstrate their skills and work one on one with younger ones in the community! They partnered with rival swim team, Evans and their coach, Ashley Steadman, to promote swim safety for the broader community! Everyone jammed to their favorite songs while Christian and Nicole Ruark from Apartment Life (Pendana’s resident engagement program) grilled up some burgers and hot dogs to conclude a day of swimming, safety, and health awareness!
The primary goal of West Lakes MVP Families is to strengthen the family bond and subsequently, neighbors with each other, for the ultimate benefit of children in the neighborhood. If you currently reside in West Lakes which consists of Rock Lake, Lake Sunset/Luola Terrace, Clear Lake Cove, Clear Lake Bunche Manor/Hollando, or Lake Lorna Doone, and are interested in attending family fun events throughout the school year or would like to volunteer, contact Shawn at shawn@polisinstitute.org or call 407-683-6329.
